Newton Industries Receives PacifiCan Funding to Boost Manufacturing Competitiveness

Newton Industries Ltd. has been selected as one of 24 British Columbia businesses to receive funding from the Government of Canada, through Pacific Economic Development Canada (PacifiCan), as part of a $30.5 million investment supporting B.C. companies navigating global trade disruptions.

The Government of Canada, through PacifiCan, recently announced over $30.5 million in funding through the Regional Tariff Response Initiative (RTRI) for 24 businesses and organizations across British Columbia. The initiative is designed to help companies pivot to new pathways for growth, improve productivity, expand into new markets, reduce costs, and build more resilient supply chains — all critical priorities as tariffs and shifting global trade policy put pressure on Canadian manufacturers.

Among the recipients are companies across advanced manufacturing, clean technology, forestry, steel, and aluminum — sectors that PacifiCan identified as key to protecting jobs and strengthening Canada's economic resilience in the face of ongoing trade uncertainty.
